First Experience - Exciting

I have to tell Ya'll about my first book signing. It is a scary experience to research and not know for sure what to do, or if anyone will show up. I was fortunate to have my daughter and granddaughter help me prepare the materials and my husband helped them transport items and set up.

I received a lot of comfort and support by my Editor, Kimberly Coglan being there to guide me.

Some people showed up before me, which added to my anxiety. In the beginning, I wasn't going to speak, but at the last minute, I did. I as they say "winged it" because I had nothing prepared. My family, which may be prejudiced, said I did fine. I'll take their word for it.

I had a great crowd. Lot's of support from family. I had a cousin and friend come from as far as Tupelo, MS, another cousin from Arkansas, friends from Grenada, Houston, and Jackson, MS. This made me feel extra loved. Every person that stopped by was special and I'll always be grateful. It truly means a lot when people CHOOSE to take time from their lives to attend something to show support of your dream, to buy your book and actually want you to sign it! I can't say thank you enough.

We enjoyed refreshments, people interacted by asking questions. I meant to take pictures with people that wanted to. That was the only hitch to it not being perfect in my eyes.

Nancy Green from the Star Herald Newspaper attended and took pictures. I was a little nervous about that.

Although I was nervous, excited, and elated, I also felt honored and grateful to be able to see my dream come to life.
